If you want to relax and unplug while finding serenity in Cebu, look no further than Hidden Beach Resort.
Situated at Barangay Bonbon in the municipality of Aloguinsan, Cebu (about 59 kilometers southwest of Cebu City), Hidden Beach Resort is often referred to as a hidden paradise because only a small number of people get to visit it. Even though it has approximately one kilometer of fine white-ish sand and a well-maintained coastline, I know you will find it very peaceful.
To get to there, take a Sepo bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal and get on one that's headed to Aloguinsan for around P80. Aloguinsan's distance is just 20 minutes by motorbike, so you can go there for a quick "habal-habal" ride for P30 per person.
Adults pay P50 while children from 7 to 10 pay only half the price. There are two choices: to pay for a cottage (around P400) for overnight stays, or for a table (around P150) if you only plan to stay for a while.
The resort staff was welcoming and helpful. My usual concern while traveling is whether someone will be responsible for my belongings should I have to dip or head out for a walk. I'm glad there are other people there who will care for your belongings, because I have no memory of having paid for that. If you do decide to donate, any amount is fine.
My first impression when I went there was that the water was turbid with many algal and aquatic plants. For the cost and because the place is less crowded, I think it's well worth the investment.
But, the quality of the facilities wasn't bad. I really appreciated the benches and tables you can use, as well as the number of restrooms. Food was priced higher than expected, but not excessively so, so bringing a food supply is a good idea. What I don't know is if it will cost you to bring your own corks.
Overall, it's a great place to visit if you want to get away from your worries and relax with your friends. The terminal is easy to reach, and if you are having trouble accessing your motorcycle, an attendant will help you contact the nearest motorbike for a lift back to the terminal.
